SMASH AFTER SMASH

REGARDED AS THE MOST DIFFICULT SEASON SINCE 1980, THE FANCIERS OF THE NORTHERN CAPE PIGEON FEDERATION IS SUFFERING UNDER 20 WEEKENDS OF HOT,WINDY HEADWINDS. ITS NOW TAKING ITS TOLL DURING THE LAST 6 LONG DISTANCE RACES. NO TAILWIND RACES AND NO GOOD PIGEON WEATHER THIS YEAR.THE SMOKEY, HAZY, HOT DAYS ARE LEAVING THE LOFTS WITH NO OLD BIRDS NEXT YEAR AND SOME OF THE WISER,OLD TIMERS LIKE DION LIEBENBERG AND OUR SELFS STOPPED RACING BEFORE THE LONG DISTANCE SERIES STARTED. WE WILL HAVE SOME OLD BIRDS LEFT NEXT YEAR, WHILE OTHER FELLOW FANCIERS MIGHT HAVE SOME PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BODILY HARMED OLD BIRDS.

WITH THIS HOT WEATHER OVER THE COUNTRY,THE LAST 4 LONG DISTANCE RACES WERE EXTREMELY HARD. THE PIGEONS HAVE TO FLY OVER 700 KM OF SEMI DESERT WITH VERY LITTLE WATER, FORCING OVERNIGHT RACES EVERY WEEKEND. HEAVY LOSSES ARE ON THE CARDS. NOT ALL OUR FANCIERS SPECIALIZE IN LONG DISTANCE RACING. THEY GO FOR THE BASIC ALL ROUNDER. DETRIMENTAL THIS YEAR. LETS HAVE A LOOK AT WHO IS HANDLING THE SMASHES THE BEST.
